FUNTIONS AND DUTIES

1. Functions:

The Foreign Language Center at Eastern International University is responsible for organizing and managing language training activities for students and learners at the university, as well as providing foreign language training based on community needs.

2. Duties:

The EIU Foreign Language Center is tasked with:

  1. Advising on strategies, regulations, and guidelines regarding language education throughout the university, as well as offering foreign language instruction tailored to the learning needs of individuals, organizations, and businesses.
  2. Leading and coordinating placement tests to assess English language proficiency for incoming students and learners.
  3. Designing and developing English training programs aligned with IELTS standards, ensuring students meet English proficiency requirements for specialized studies and graduation.
  4. Compiling course materials, reference documents, and teaching resources, and selecting teaching methodologies and assessment approaches that align with training program objectives.
  5. Conducting teaching, testing, and evaluations based on the designed curricula.
  6. Managing, monitoring, and assessing the foreign language learning progress of students and learners at the center, analyzing data, and implementing measures to improve teaching and learning quality.
  7. Organizing tutoring sessions, clubs, and student support services to enhance learning outcomes.
  8. Representing the university in collaborations with international entities to facilitate IELTS and other language proficiency exams.
  9. Recruiting experienced lecturers from both local and international backgrounds to ensure high-quality teaching, while also managing and supporting foreign instructors in compliance with university regulations.
  10. Offering cultural exchange programs for international students based on partnerships and cooperative projects with university affiliates.
  11. Developing operational plans, conducting evaluations, and maintaining reporting procedures according to established policies.
  12. Performing other assigned duties as delegated by university leadership.
