This program is designed for learners aged 15 and above who intend to take the IELTS test and whose English proficiency level is ideally Intermediate or above (evaluated through a Placement test.). After this course, learners will be equipped with essential background knowledge and test-taking skills to achieve their full test-potential.

HIGHLIGHT OF IELTS PREPARATION COURSES

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is one of the world’s most popular English language proficiency tests for students seeking higher education, both at local universities that require English skills and at overseas educational institutions.

With 4 millions of tests taken each year, it is recognized by over 12,000 organizations worldwide including educational institutions, companies, professional associations and governments in more than 140 countries around the world.

IELTS tests 4 language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Learners can register to take an IELTS exam at the British Council and/or the Eastern International University. Exam results shall be valid for a period of 2 years from the date of examination.

There are two types of examinations: IELTS General Training and IELTS Academic:

IELTS General is suitable for secondary students, or individuals wishing to work or participate in training programs in English-speaking countries.
IELTS Academic is suitable for students wishing to attend undergraduate and graduate programs. Most of the top universities in the US and UK require students to apply for IELTS at least 6.0. Among the top 20 universities in the US, there are 15 universities that require students to apply for IELTS from 6.5 (of which none are below 6.0).

EIU Language Center focuses on teaching the IELTS Academic program. Therefore, this course will be for you if:

Entry level: complete the Center’s level assessment or have IELTS 4.0 or higher

The program is designed to provide students with an understanding of Academic English and a mastery of the skills required in the exam in order to achieve the best IELTS results. Accurately assessing a student’s current ability will help determine a reasonable and effective exam preparation strategy.

The course does not only improve your English skills, but also actually teach you strategies for preparing for the exam. Staying close to the real tests so that you can assess and test your ability before registering for the official IELTS exam.

Improve your knowledge of more complex vocabulary by using a variety of interesting topics in IELTS. The topics are diverse, often appearing in the actual IELTS test. The topics at different levels are also different. As a result, students do not worry about getting bored or repeating their knowledge as their progress further.

Advantages of registering for IELTS at Eastern International University (EIU)

EIU Language Center (ELC), under Eastern International University (EIU), is an official IELTS test venue in partnership with the British Council. ELC coordinates to provide IELTS registration services and regularly hosts IELTS exams on the EIU campus.

– EIU students and ELC learners are entitled to register for IELTS exam with preferential fees.

– Freelance candidates can go to EIU Language Center to register for IELTS exam (test date and location according to the British Council), saving time and effort as candidates will not need to go to the British Council in Ho Chi Minh City to register for the exam.

The test location is in Binh Duong which helps candidates conveniently travel and have better health to take the test.

Tuition is always preferential

(1) Discount up to 15% of tuition fee for all students who enroll and pay tuition 4 days before the opening date.

(2) Discount up to 10% of tuition fee for all students who enroll and pay tuition 3 days before the opening date, up to and including the course start date.

(3) Discount up to 25% of tuition fee for all for Becamex Corporation staff, as well as EIU staff and students.

(4) Additional incentive of VND 400,000 for each student in the following cases:

+ For students who have a sibling currently studying at the center.

+ For students who achieve the highest final course results in their class when registering for the next course.

Step 1: Placement test

Students should contact the Center to register for a placement test. The test includes listening and reading skills designed by the Center, as well as writing and speaking components simulated like a real IELTS exam with foreign teachers. This test is designed to accurately determine your current English proficiency. Placement test results are valid for 6 months.

If students have taken an IELTS test and obtained an IELTS certificate, the placement test can be skipped.

Step 2: Choose the right course

Depending on your level and purpose of learning English, we will advise you to choose the most suitable English course.

Step 3: Register

You can register for an upcoming course or one currently in session that matches your level. If no suitable class is available at the moment, you can register and wait for a new course to start. The Center will contact you as soon as it begins.

IELTS PREPARATION PROGRAM AT EIU LANGUAGE CENTER

Students get acquainted with the structure of an IELTS test
Introduce the test strategies and skills required to successfully study and produce a variety of specific IELTS tasks.
Entry level: completing the Center’s placement test or having IELTS 4.0 or higher

Course Schedule

Study 3 days a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
Time: 4:50 – 6:50pm or 5:20 – 6:50pm
Course duration is 60 hours, equivalent to 10 weeks (if studying from 4:50 – 6:50pm) or 13.5 weeks (if studying from 5:20 – 6:50pm)
IELTS Foundation has 2 courses IE – F1 and IE – F2

Practice and increase students’ knowledge of more complex vocabulary using a variety of stimulating topics across the four skills.
After successfully completing this course, students should be able to achieve an IELTS Band 6.0.
Entry level: completing the IELTS Foundation course or completing the Center’s placement test or having IELTS 5.0 or higher

Course Schedule:

Study 3 days a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
Time: 4:50 – 6:50pm or 5:20 – 6:50pm
Course duration is 60 hours, equivalent to 10 weeks (if studying from 4:50 – 6:50pm) or 13.5 weeks (if studying from 5:20 – 6:50pm)
IELTS Preparation has 2 courses IE – PREP1 and IE – PREP2

The course is for students who are trying to achieve an IELTS 6.0 or higher and is also suitable for students that need to retake the IELTS test or refresh their skills.
The course focuses on developing students’ linguistic self-awareness on a broader range of more complex academic topics.
The course helps students to have a deeper understanding of English nuances in order to refine their output for very specific purposes and audiences.
Entry level: completing IELTS Preparation course before entering IELTS Advanced course or completing the Center’s placement test or having IELTS 6.0 or higher
